Color: Fawn   Weight: 145 lbs

Special Needs: Needs daily medication and ongoing vet care for Wobblers

Donut is an incredibly sweet and affectionate Great Dane. Formerly a dedicated service dog, Donut is adjusting to a new chapter in life after being diagnosed with mild Wobbler Syndrome. While he can no longer perform his service duties, his playful, gentle spirit and immense love for people remain untouched.

About Donut

Donut’s Wobbler Syndrome is well-managed with twice-daily Gabapentin, and most days, you’d never even notice. Despite his health challenges, Donut still enjoys running, playing, and soaking up life’s simple pleasures. His favorite things include:

  • Snuggling on the couch (especially with tummy rubs!).

  • Playing gently with stuffed toys or friendly dogs of all sizes.

  • Hanging out in a secure, fenced yard where he never tries to escape.

  • Lounging near his humans or dog friends for cozy companionship.

His Perfect Home

Donut thrives in an environment where he isn’t left alone for long periods. His frustration at no longer traveling and working has led to some destructive behavior when free-roaming solo. But with the structure of crate training, love, and the company of a respectful dog companion or family, Donut will truly shine.

His ideal family might include:

  • Another dog to keep him company and share playtime.

  • A loving family who can shower him with attention and affection.

  • A patient household that understands his past life as a service dog and his ongoing adjustment.

Donut’s Talents

This smart, well-trained boy brings years of professional service dog training to the table. He knows commands like sit, stay, and come, and is exceptional on a leash. He’s also house-trained, crate-trained, and very gentle—he never uses teeth or claws when playing.

Special Notes

Donut has peacefully coexisted with cats and loves interacting with dogs, whether playing, going for walks, or simply relaxing nearby. While he’s a confident pup in many ways, large trucks make him nervous, and he’ll appreciate a calm and reassuring presence during walks or car rides.

Above all, Donut is a gentle giant with an endearing personality. He’ll win your heart the moment he places his big head on your lap, gazing into your eyes with love and trust.

If you’re ready to welcome this cuddly, kind-hearted Dane into your life, Donut is ready to bring joy and endless snuggles into your home! 🐶❤️
