Meet Arlo, a sweet soul who was completely shut down in the shelter and needed out ASAP. We found a foster home for him and he is settling in. Please check back to see more about him once he is settled in.
This gentle boy wandered into someone’s yard last week as a stray—scared but friendly—and was taken to the shelter after spending a short time in a kind volunteer’s home. That brief taste of safety was quickly replaced by the overwhelming noise, stress, and confinement of the shelter, where he’s now deteriorating fast.
Arlo is not aggressive—he was terrified.
This boy deserves a wonderful forever home.
When a volunteer visited, he gave a low growl out of fear, but after sitting quietly with him outside his kennel for just 30 minutes, he began to relax and even laid his head down. Shelter staff confirmed he was perfectly sweet until he was placed in a kennel at the shelter.
The woman who found him gave him a bath and said he was very sweet in the home, but couldn’t keep him due to family limitations.
The shelter does not have the funding to neuter him but he will be neutered in rescue.
We don’t know much about his past, but we know this: Arlo is a good dog who’s been through a lot. He needs a calm, patient foster with a soft place to land and some time to decompress. With a little compassion, we believe he’ll bounce back fast.
