Bailey is an approximately 3-year-old sweetheart who came to the shelter as a stray. While much of her past is unknown, one thing is clear—this gentle girl is ready for a fresh start and a family to love her.
She was recently spayed at the shelter and has been adjusting well. Bailey keeps a fairly clean kennel and hasn’t had any accidents when she’s allowed time outside, which may suggest she was housetrained in a previous home.
🐾 Her Personality:
Bailey is a quiet, affectionate girl who absolutely adores human attention. She’s a little shy at first, but once she knows you’re a friend, she turns into a total lovebug—leaning against you or curling between your legs just to stay close.
She’s met both men and women and done great with all. With other dogs, she lights up with joy, showing interest and gentle curiosity with both males and females. She’s playful but cautious—it’s as if she’s still figuring out how to dog, which makes her journey even more endearing.
🐶 Around Other Animals & Environment:
Bailey has been non-reactive to other dogs at the shelter and shows a mix of interest and nervousness around the free-roaming shelter cat. Because of this, we recommend slow, supervised introductions with any household cats. Her history with kids is unknown, so thoughtful, slow introductions would be best.
🏡 Other Things to Know:
-
Affectionate lap dog who loves stuffed toys
-
Walks well on leash with encouragement, but can get spooked by loud noises or sudden movements
-
Not destructive as far as we know, but she’s still learning
-
She did chew off her collar once, so supervision or a harness may be better
-
Loud shelter environments can be overwhelming for her—she’s often found tucked in the quietest corner she can find
