Introducing Sammie—a 4-year-old brindle Great Dane with the heart of a snuggle bug, the spirit of a clown, and the energy of a toddler after a juice box. She’s settled into her foster home and now she’s ready to find her forever fam! 🛋️🐾💕

If you’re into oversized lap dogs, hilarious zoomies, and a companion who will love you like it’s her job—Sammie’s your girl.

💞 Certified Velcro Dog

Sammie isn’t just affectionate—she’s a full-contact cuddler. She’ll plop her giant noggin in your lap like it’s the most natural thing in the world and expect you to cancel all plans. She’s bold, sweet, and very into physical touch (and by that, we mean leaning, licking, pawing, and being ON you).

This girl wants to be wherever you are: couch? She’s there. Kitchen? She’s underfoot. Bathroom? …Yep. 🫣💖

🎾 Goofy, Playful, and Full of Zoomies

Sammie’s got energy to spare! She LOVES to play—chasing balls, catching toys mid-air, or trotting proudly with a plushie in her mouth like she just won a prize. 🧸💨

She’s definitely not your typical lazy Dane—this girl is fast, focused, and loves structured games. Hide a toy? She’ll find it. Throw a ball? She’s on it. Offer her a tug toy? Game on.

Just make sure you’ve got space—she’s been described as a bull in a china shop, and she’ll need a yard to get those zoomies out safely. 🚀🌱

🧠 Still Learning (But Making Strides!)

Sammie’s made awesome progress in foster care and is still working on her manners. She knows:

✅ Sit
✅ Down
✅ Stay
✅ “Please” (gently gives paw… it’s too cute 🥺)

She’s crate trained, not destructive when left alone, and walks well with a Gentle Leader. But fair warning: she still gets the zooms on leash and is very reactive to strangers, other dogs, squirrels, bunnies, and basically… the entire outside world. 🫣 So a confident handler and calm walking routine are essential.

🧻 Potty training is coming along—she’s great about going #1 outside, but #2? Still a bit of a mystery. Consistency and routine are key, and access to a fenced yard will help a lot.

🏡 Sammie’s Perfect Home

Here’s what this brindle beauty needs to thrive:

✨ A home with space (zoomie-friendly!)
✨ A fenced yard for safety and play
✨ Someone home often to continue training
✨ No small kids or cats
✨ Another large, playful dog would be a bonus
✨ A calm, structured household with patient, experienced humans

She’s not ready for dog parks or crowded patios, but she is ready to be someone’s favorite living-room comedian, cuddle monster, and backyard athlete.

🐕 The Quirks That Make Her Unique

Sammie is a little sensitive, a little dramatic, and a whole lot of extra—and we love that about her. 💁‍♀️

She’s scared of:

• 💥 Loud noises (fireworks, thunder)

• 🗣️ Raised voices or fast movements

• 🧰 Nail clippers & Dremels (good luck!)

She’s also a runner—so off-leash adventures are a no-go unless you enjoy Olympic-level sprinting. 😅

But every day she grows braver. She’s learning to trust, to slow down (a little), and to enjoy her nightly DentaStick routine (after politely saying “please,” of course).

She may never be your coffee shop dog or sidewalk superstar—but Sammie will be the dog that makes you laugh, teaches you patience, and gives you her whole heart. 💖

She’s silly. She’s snuggly. She’s sassy.
And she’s waiting for a family who sees her not just for what she needs… but for who she is.

• House trained: Needs continued work on potty training and consistent schedule

• Has not lived with children – put okay with visitors

• Okay with large dos

• Cats: Has prey drive

• Basic Obedience Training complete – knows sit, come, down, heel

• Shy and Leery of Strangers – needs time to warm up to people and feel secure

• Training and socialization needed

• Leash reactive with dogs and people – needs continued training

• Moderate energy

• Fenced yard – required! She’s a runner!
