Meet Forest
Status: Foster Needed
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 1 yr Ears: Natural
Weight: 147 lbs Color: Black
Forest is a lovable, playful, and extremely people-oriented Great Dane who thrives on companionship and affection. At just a year old, he’s already showing his signature personality: loyal, goofy, and always nearby with a tail wag and hopeful eyes. 💚
This oversized sweetheart enjoys playing fetch (even if he’s not so great at catching the ball mid-air 🎾😂), chewing on durable rubber toys, and carrying around his favorite stuffed animals. He also attends doggy daycare 2–3 times per week, where he runs and plays with his large-dog friends—he absolutely loves it and comes home happy and tired. 🐾
Forest is best matched with large, friendly, playful dogs. He has lived successfully with other dogs, including golden doodles and a senior shih tzu, but due to his size and energy, he wouldn’t be a good fit for small dogs or small animals. He hasn’t been socialized with children and would not do well in a home with young kids. A calm, respectful home environment is key to helping him feel safe and happy. 🙅♂️🚫👶
🏡 Forest’s Ideal Home Includes:
-
One or more large, easygoing dogs to play and hang with
-
A securely fenced yard with space to roam
-
No small pets or young children
-
An owner who is home often
-
A routine that provides structure, activity, and lots of love
Forest knows his basic commands—sit, stay, come, down—and continues to improve with consistent guidance. He’s affectionate, always nearby, and happiest when he’s simply by your side. Whether you’re doing dishes, folding laundry, or relaxing on the couch, he’ll be right there—probably leaning on you like the classic Velcro Dane he is. 💞
He does experience separation anxiety if left completely alone, which can lead to chewing behaviors. He does best when he has other animals or people nearby and is not known to bark excessively unless left alone for extended periods. Forest can also be protective of his primary person, showing some reactivity toward unfamiliar dogs in that context. However, he shows no aggression when walked by others or during daycare.
Forest is a gentle, goofy soul looking for a home that understands his need for companionship, play, and routine. With the right match, he’ll be an incredible, loyal companion full of love, laughs, and giant snuggles. 🐶❤️
