Chevy is a 5-year-old merle Great Dane with a heart full of love and a lot of potential just waiting to shine. She’s a sweet, snuggly Velcro girl who wants nothing more than to be by your side—whether that means following you around like a shadow, curling up in your lap (all 100+ pounds of her!), or zooming around the yard with goofy joy.

Chevy is affectionate, playful, and loves rolling in the grass, sniffing trails like a little detective, and destroying stuffed toys with gusto. Pat your chest while sitting on the couch and she’ll “Timber!!” into your lap for a snuggle. 🥰

Challenges & Next Steps
Chevy is still learning how to navigate the world with confidence. She struggles with fear and anxiety—new people, loud noises, or unfamiliar situations can make her nervous and reactive. She also experiences separation anxiety and can get vocal or destructive in her crate when left alone.

The good news? Chevy is about to attend a board & train program at K9 Lifeline where she’ll receive professional training to help her work through her fears, build confidence, and learn better coping skills. This is a huge step forward for her future success! 🙌

🐾 Chevy’s strengths:

  • Housetrained & knows sit, down, stay, come, off, and hand signals

  • Walks well on leash (with a nose loop)

  • Food-motivated & loves puzzle toys

  • Patient with food—she’ll wait for the “okay” to eat

  • LOVES zoomies, rolling in the grass, and sniffy walks

Chevy’s Home Wishlist:
🏡 A calm, quiet household with patience and structure
👨‍👩‍👧 No young kids; she does best without the surprises children bring
🐶 Preferably the only dog (her comfort with other dogs is still unknown)
💜 A family committed to continuing her training and helping her feel safe
🌳 A yard or space to zoom, sniff, and roll in the grass

🏡 Chevy’s ideal home:
Chevy would thrive in a quiet, calm household with no kids and plenty of patience to help her feel safe. She’d love a yard for zoomies and grass-rolling, and a family who can be home often to keep her company. While she’s still figuring out her feelings about other dogs, she’d do best as the only pet for now.

Chevy is a sensitive soul who just needs the right people to believe in her. With love, structure, and the training she’s about to begin, she has every bit of potential to grow into the devoted, snuggly, goofy girl she’s meant to be. 💕
