Meet Bruce! 🐾💙
Age: Approx 6 years | Color: Merle | Personality: Goofy Gentleman 🤪

Bruce may technically be six, but don’t tell him that—this big guy still bounces up the stairs like a bullfrog 🐸 and has the energy of a pup! Agile, affectionate, and just the right amount of silly 😍, Bruce has quickly settled into foster life and is showing his true colors. This sweet boy was surrendered to the shelter with some wounds, a thin frame, and a heart in need of healing 💔—but despite it all, he’s gentle, quiet, and overflowing with love. 💙

Bruce’s Best Qualities:

  • 🛋️ Couch snuggler-in-training – Bruce started politely asking for a small corner of the couch, and now he and his foster brother Kai are full-on nap buddies.

  • 🤗 Velcro vibes – He’s happiest leaning into his humans for pets and love.

  • 🐾 Crate & house trained – Sleeps through the night in his crate (with a hallway light on) and lets you know when he needs to go outside by standing at the door and whining.

  • 😴 Settles when left alone – Whines for about 10–15 minutes in his crate, then snoozes peacefully.

  • 🍲 Food enthusiast – Eats with gusto and thinks snacks should be on-demand. He does need his own space at mealtimes since he’s protective of his food.

  • 🐶 Good with big dogs – Gets along with his foster Dane, even sharing the couch. With some guidance, he’s shown he can be a polite housemate.

  • 😍 Trusting & affectionate – Bonded quickly with his foster family, both men and women, and loves attention.

💡 Things to Know About Bruce:

  • 🍽️ Mealtime manners – Needs to eat separately from other dogs, but once his food is gone, he’s relaxed and non-guarding.

  • 🚶 Leash ready – Has some leash awareness, doesn’t pull much, and has energy for fun walks once his tummy is fully settled.

  • 🐸 Stair master – Flies up the stairs two at a time, showing off his agility.

  • 🐾 Mild separation anxiety – Doesn’t love being left at first, but he adjusts quickly and settles in his crate.

  • 🐕 Flexible family fit – Could be happy with another big dog or soaking up the love as an only pup.

  • 💊 On special diet/meds – Eating a mix of prescription GI food with his regular diet and taking meds to help his digestion while he gains weight.

  • 👨‍👩‍👧 People lover – Would thrive in a home where he’s not left alone long hours and can enjoy plenty of love, company, and couch cuddles.

💙 Bruce is ready for a forever family who will laugh at his goofy antics, share the couch, and return the endless love he’s so eager to give.
