Tux has officially traded shelter life for soft beds, couch snuggles, and a whole lot of love—and he’s thriving! At 8 years old, this handsome senior may have a frosted face, but don’t let that fool you—he’s full of life, charm, and personality.

💙 Tux’s Personality

Tux is the ultimate Velcro Dane. He’s devoted to his humans, always keeping you in sight, leaning into every pet, and following you from room to room. Whether he’s snuggled next to you on the couch or showing off his adorable “shake paw” trick, Tux brings warmth, joy, and laughter to every day.
✨ Friendly with visitors
✨ Outgoing & affectionate
✨ Gentle and sensitive to tone
✨ Toy-loving & playful (frisbees, plushies, and zoomies galore!)

🐶 Training & Home Habits

✅ Housetrained
✅ Trustworthy with free roam
✅ Crate trained (though he prefers being near you)
✅ Knows sit, down, stay, come, heel, off—and hand signals!
✅ Responds well to a gentle leader halter and learning “heel” & “halt”
✅ Sleeps peacefully on the couch or in a comfy dog bed
✅ Loves learning & takes direction with joy

He can get excited and jump up for hugs when greeting you—we’re working on “off.” He also has a tendency to counter surf but is improving with the “leave it” command.

🏡 Tux’s Ideal Home

Tux would love a home where someone is around most of the day to keep him company—he thrives with inclusion and connection.
🧘 Calm, quiet environment
💞 An affectionate, patient family
🚫 No small children (due to his size and occasional jumping)
🐕 May do well with a tolerant, easygoing large dog (unknown with small dogs)
🌳 Fenced yard for backyard zoomies
🩺 Needs a home understanding of senior dog needs—he has some back-end weakness (possibly mild spondylosis) and occasionally favors his left rear leg.

🐾 Favorite Things

🚶‍♂️ WALKS – his absolute favorite activity. He knows his route and his home’s driveway.
🎾 Plush toys and his frisbee (though he doesn’t bring it back 😄)
🚗 Car rides (though vet visits make him a little anxious)
🛋 Snuggling next to his people
🐾 Being praised—happy talk makes him shine

Tux is a resilient boy who’s come a long way from the shelter, blossoming with each day in foster care. He’s sensitive, sweet, and so eager to love and be loved. With time, security, and a little understanding, Tux will be the most loyal, loving companion you could ask for.

💌 If you’re ready to share your heart—and your couch—with a truly special Dane, Tux is waiting to meet you.
