Meet Rufus

Hi rescue world!  I’m Rufus and a very active boy.  I was found as a stray at 8 weeks old but need to find a foster to permanent home where I can grow and be the center of a family’s world.  I am a Great Dane mix so if a ‘pocket Dane’ is your jam, then let me be your jelly! 

I am very active, playful, talkative, friendly to family and visitors and love to be an affectionate clown.  I need to learn to play a little more gently but that’s what comes with the territory as I learn to be a Dane. 

Let me play with a ball, stuff toys, water, and with dogs of all sizes. As a puppy, I just love to run, run, run and zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, so someone who can give me lot’s of exercise is best.  Given my age, an experienced Great Dane or Giant Breed family is needed.  I need to learn better house manners and not jump on guests; I can also  show off my puppy chewing and digging skills so if you are in need of house decorating or gardening, leave me unsupervised and I help fix whatchu got (wink wink)!

Rufus is:

• House trained

• Not yet neutered

• High energy

• Playful

• Good with large and small dogs after proper introductions

• Will resource guard food (growing puppy and hungry!)

• No cats or small livestock

• Good with children of all ages (so long as children are accustomed to big dogs and respectful of dogs)

• Needs leash training

• Needs strong leadership and consistent training
